5-Day Classic Safari Masai Mara/L, Nakuru/Naivasha Tour
African Classic safari, Big 5 present, famous for its flamingos which cover both wildlife tour and adventure safari as we explore the famous Masai Mara which is highly known for its annual migration of wildebeest and zebras in July to October. It also take us to the Great Rift Valley lakes for bird watching. Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru both have a large number of birds including Flamingos. It also has a sanctuary for endangered black and white Rhinoceros.
Day 1
Nairobi – masai mara – Classic safari, Big 5 present (rhino rare), many big cats
We’ll Pick up depart and we drive down the escarpment via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. at 08: 15hrs for Masai Mara and drive north ascending the Great Rift Valley for a breathtaking views and photography.
The Rift Valley was formed millions of years ago. Stretching some 5,000 miles from Jordan to Mozambique, it’s the largest Rift on Earth. Descend the escarpment and drive to Narok-town where you will stop for early hot-lunch. Proceed to Masai Mara after lunch arriving in good time to your camp. After checking-into your camp, freshen-up then go for an introductory game viewing drive. Masai Mara is famous for its black manned lions and yearly migration of wildebeests and the big-five. Dinner and overnight at Camp.
Day 2
Masai Mara Game Reserve -Classic safari, Big 5 present (rhino rare), many big cats
Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa’s Big Five and other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunsets well-worth capturing on camera. Dinner and overnight at Camp.
The Mara reserve is 1510 km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. The vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot, but reasonably common.
Day 3
Masai Mara – lake nakuru – Classic safari, Big 5 present, famous for its flamingos
Early morning pre-breakfast game drive. After breakfast, depart the Mara region for Nakuru, lunch enroute, with scenic views of Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from afar on the main highway. Dinner and overnight Golden Palace Resort in Nakuru.
The park lies in Central Kenya, 140km north-west of Nairobi, in Nakuru district of the Rift Valley Province. The ecosystem comprises of the lake, surrounded by mainly wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos (Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino and buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial birds numbering nearly 450 species.
Day 4
Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha – Cycling, walking and classic safari
After breakfast proceeds on a game drive in Lake Nakuru Park, known for its prolific birdlife including flamingos. The park contains a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino while species like Cape buffalo and waterbuck can be seen near the shoreline – enjoy hot lunch and drive to Naivasha – you have an option to take a boat ride in this fresh water lake to go and see hippos and fish eagles. Dinner and overnight at budget hotel
Hell’s Gate National Park covers an area of 68.25 square km and is situated in the environs of Lake Naivasha about 90 km from Nairobi. The park is 14 km after the turnoff from the old Nairobi-Naivasha highway.
It is characterized by diverse topography and geological scenery. It is an important home of the lammergeyer (The Bearded Vulture).
Hell’s Gate has two gates that are used by visitors – the main Elsa Gate and the Olkaria Gate. The latter also serves the Olkaria Geothermal Station that is located inside the National Park.
Day 5
Naivasha -Nairobi
After breakfast have a nature walk in the hell’s gate national park, You may hire bicycles to cycle in this only, There are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux’s Eagles, augur buzzard, and swifts. African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, and baboons are also common. The park is also home to klipspringer antelope and Chanler’s mountain reedbuck. Enjoy hot lunch and later drive back to Nairobi arriving in thr afternoon.
