Gorilla Trekking Age Limit in Uganda and Africa

The Gorilla Trekking Age Limit in Uganda’s National Parks is limited to 15 years and above; and Gorilla Trekking in Uganda takes place in only two National Parks thats’ Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in southwestern Uganda on the area of about 331 km² in size and over 460 km from Kampala the capital of Uganda to Bwindi National Park.

Mgahinga National Park located in the southwestern corner of Uganda which is well known for the mountain gorilla and golden monkey and is the smallest Park in Uganda’s National Park with approximately 33.7 sq km and consists of the partly forested slopes of three extinct volcanoes, and it is approximately a 9-10 hours drive from Kampala the capital of Uganda to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Gorilla Trekking Age LimitGorilla Trekking Age Limit in Uganda’s National Park of Bwindi and Mgahinga is 15 years old, a person under 15 years old is not allowed to trek gorillas in their natural habitat because children tend to have communicable diseases that easily transmit to mountain gorillas which are already endangered.

Children are always unpredictable since you can never tell how they will behave during gorilla trekking at a given family of mountain gorillas. So in order to avoid all these, by law, all children below 15 years are not allowed to trek gorillas. However, there’s a chance if a child is about to celebrate the 15th birthday to track gorillas.

Above 15 years old, all travelers are allowed to trek gorillas as well as those with natural physical disability are still allowed to trek gorillas, however, it’s advisable to communicate with us earlier alone for special arrangement in order to avoid missing such wonderful experience.

Porters/ helper are available to give assistance to those who have a natural physical disability, this can be done in many ways in order to assist travelers to do their lifetime experience, such as providing stretcher to the client or you can be given nearby gorilla family in order to easier your trekking experience.
